The Garden State Underwater Recovery Unit is completely self-supported and receives no funding from municipal, county, state or federal governments. All operating revenue is generated by contributions and fund-raising and no money is ever spent on administrative overhead.
Our members are volunteers. They receive no compensation and are responsible for purchasing all of their own diving equipment. The work we do is often emotionally taxing, and we are in constant search for both funding and new members.
As a 501-c(3) non-profit organization, contributions to our organization are tax-deductible. If you contribute to the United Way please be aware you can name Garden State Underwater Recovery Unit, Inc. the benefactor of your donation.
